Belair Directors attend IMC

Belair Directors attend IMC – MALTA WORKSHOP PROGRAMME

Tuesday 03rd October marked an interesting afternoon were we were invited to attend a workshop jointly hosted by the Investment Migration Council and Government of Malta at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands.. The workshop targeted the current state of affairs and was generally aimed at discussing the latest thinking , development and opportunities in the Investment Migration Industry on the Maltese islands with particular subjects that interest us at Belair Property subjective mainly to the Investment Individual Investors Programme (IIP) and Malta Residence Visa Program. MRVP.

The workshop led most professionally by Bruno L’ecuyer from IMCM included a number of keys speakers namely The Prime Minister of Malta - Hon Dr Joseph Muscat, Parliamentary secretary for reforms - Julia Farrugia Portelli, Jonathan Cardona from Identity Malta and Roderick Cutajar from Malta Residence Visa Agency (MRVA) amongst others giving us invaluable information relating to statistics and product comparisons with other jurisdictions, combined with security and insurance requirements .

The workshop proved to be most informative to us as estate agents to clearly understand the current status of the residency programmes that attract a number of individuals to the Maltese Islands that have over the past years become our clients for sales as well as property rentals. The overall view highlighted the intense scrutiny placed on Due Diligence procedures to ensure that the right type of clients apply for such Programmes that are mainly introduced to us by the various licensed concessionaires that promote and advise respective clients accordingly. Interesting to note also were the comparisons between Programme promoted in areas like Greece, Cyprus and Portugal with Malta and the reasons why our destination is so attractive without compromising on security and other aspects. The key speakers were most convincing in portraying the huge economic achievements and benefits that Malta stands to gain from such programmes.

Belair Property directors :- Ian Casolani, David Aquilina and Jean Pierre Camilleri attended the workshop and took pleasure in meeting Service Providers including legal & tax advisors, as well as government officials and concessionaires over a pleasant reception held at the end of the workshop. We thank the organisers of the event for inviting us and look forward to future participation.
